Systemic work with teams.

A true enrichment for anyone who works with groups

I see you!

Learn how you can guide teams and groups in a profound way, from the undercurrent to the surface.

Systemic work with teams in team development

Many issues in teams and groups cannot be resolved through conversations, models, or interventions alone. Despite good intentions, patterns continue to repeat, collaboration stalls, or real change fails to materialize.

In this 6-day intensive course, you will learn to take a systemic approach to teams and groups. You will develop the ability to see what is happening beneath the surface: the dynamics, loyalties, and invisible patterns that influence behavior and collaboration.

You learn not only what is at play, but also how to navigate it as a facilitator, leader, or HR professional. When do you intervene, and when do you not? What belongs to you, and what belongs to the system?

This training is experience-oriented and in-depth. You work with your own case studies and learn to apply systemic principles directly in the practice of teams and groups. After these six days, you will look at things differently. With more calm, clarity, and confidence in what presents itself and in what you need to do in response.

The difference between team coaching and systemic work

Team coaching often focuses on communication, collaboration, and behavior. Systemic work with teams additionally explores which underlying dynamics and patterns influence the team. This often creates movement at a deeper level, making change more sustainable.

Working systemically with teams helps reveal what is happening beneath the surface in collaboration, leadership, and team dynamics. Many issues keep recurring because attention is focused on symptoms, while the true cause often lies in the undercurrent. Taking a systemic approach provides insight into the patterns, dynamics, and unconscious processes that influence a team.

Common dynamics in teams

Many teams do not get stuck due to a lack of knowledge, capacity, or good intentions. Often, patterns and dynamics are at play beneath the surface that influence collaboration. Sometimes these are visible, but often they are primarily felt. This results in friction, tension, frustration, or even stagnation, without it being clear exactly where this comes from.

  • Responsibilities that are left undone or always end up with the same people.
  • The real conversation that is not being had, while the tension is palpable.
  • Us-versus-them thinking between teams, departments, or functional groups.
  • Teams that work hard but experience little progress.
  • Recurring conflicts that return each time in a different form.
  • Unspoken expectations towards leadership.
  • Resistance to change or new initiatives.
  • Lack of ownership and accountability.
  • High turnover, absenteeism, or persistent unrest in the team.
  • A team that struggles to let go of past events.
  • Loyalties that influence cooperation or decision-making.
  • The feeling that “something is going on,” without it being clear what.

Often, these are not isolated problems, but signals of an underlying dynamic. By making visible what is happening in the undercurrent, space is created for movement and sustainable change.

For trainers who already work with groups and teams and are familiar with family and/or organizational constellations, but who truly want to deepen their skills in systemic work in organizations and with teams.

In this advanced course, you learn to take a systemic view of teams and groups — beyond behavior, content, and structure alone. You develop the ability to recognize underlying dynamics, patterns, and tensions more quickly, and to intervene appropriately.

You will learn, among other things:

  • Recognizing systemic patterns and dynamics in teams
  • Perceiving and interpreting the undercurrent
  • Seeing what is going on in groups, even when it is not spoken
  • Working with systemic principles such as connection, order, and balance
  • Understanding how your own place influences the system
  • Implement interventions that bring about movement without forcing
  • Dealing with resistance, tension, and group dynamics
  • Working with the “empty center” and learning to tolerate not knowing
  • Guiding teams in change, collaboration, and positioning
  • Recognizing when something is a team issue — and when it isn't

During the training, you work with your own real-life case studies, experiential exercises, and systemic working methods. As a result, you learn not only to understand, but above all to apply.

After these six days, you will look at what is happening in teams and groups, and at your own role in it, with more calm, sharpness, and confidence.
