My client asked me if I'm sitting on a mountain again! Haha. No, I'm not sitting on a mountain all the time. Although that is nice for a while, it isn't for my whole life. No, over the past few weeks I have been busy, among other things, with the value I add to the teams I coach.
When is my work meaningful, and when does it truly have significance?
By reflecting on why I enjoy this work so much, I gain new inspiration for the processes I facilitate. It also sharpens my focus on the purpose of my work.
The most important values for me in team training are safety, team spirit, insights, creativity, depth, humor, and wonder.
Loosely translated according to the following principles:
Creating a safe setting to open up undercurrents Ensuring mutual recognition and understanding Making room for reality (seeing and acknowledging (sub)cultures) Developing and challenging the individual and the group as a whole Strengthening
collaboration and team spirit Doing what is useful while being mindful of what is useless
Ensuring a good balance of humor, lightness, and depth Creativity in the form of varied interventions
In any case, I found the word 'team spirit' beautiful to read. The team spirit that hangs so high over a team and influences how the employees feel within that team. Naming, discussing, acknowledging, and seeing that team spirit is a great first step towards change within the group.
Ah, that is how I often muse about my work and how it could be even better. And especially about how it can be meaningful. Do you ever do that too? I am curious to know how you ensure that your work feels (or is) meaningful.
I see you!
